IPR Philosophy On Disaster Recovery

Don't Wait Until You Have a Disaster to Find Out IF You can Recover

IPR believes that anything that diminishes our client’s ability to resume operations and recover their data needs to be replaced with a better, more robust solution.  For this reason, we do not believe in tape-based backup and we do believe in dedicated recovery whenever possible.
  1. Our clients asked us to develop this service …they were not happy with the service and the price they were paying for “DR” subscription services and, since we were already protecting their data they asked us to help them with a better recovery solution.
  2. The “traditional DR subscription model” was created before the internet, before mobile PCs, before a global, distributed, 24 X 7 business world…and it has changed very little….it’s time for a new paradigm.
  3. We don’t want our clients to wait for a disaster to discovery if they can recover….
  4. We aim for a higher goal…Continuity of Operations (CoOP), Operational Resiliency, Continuous Computing…call it what you like, but we do not want our clients to “recover” from a disaster….we want them to continue no matter what! 
  5. We deliberately called our facility a “Business Recovery Center”….we’ll help our clients establish a temporary, new “normal state of operations” to help them move through disruptions and interruptions.
  6. Enterprise business has pulled away from the traditional model and created their own recovery centers by replicating data from one center to the other with immediate failover capability. 
  7. Because of virtualization…you can do the same thing.  Instead of owning another data center and a twin set of hardware and software, you can have DEDICATED resources within our virtual environment …  a mini version with the maximum capabilities.
