IPR Honored at Mid-Size Enterprise Summit
with Innovation Award Nominated in Two Categories
IPR’s Judge Ali Holds Court
Hollywood, FL –
April, 13, 2006 – IPR International, a leader in
data protection and recovery, today announced that the company
was honored with nominations in two categories, “Best Midmarket
Solution Services” and “Best Presentation”, by attendees
at the Spring 2006 Midsize Enterprise Summit. Produced
by Vision Events®, a Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT and ITB) company,
Midsize Enterprise Summit is solely focused on the requirements
of midsize businesses and attracted 400 CIO's and senior IT
executives from midsize companies across a wide range of
industries. The company also kicked-off its new Judge Ali
campaign to bring awareness to the risk companies take when
their data is unprotected, inaccessible or unrecoverable.
“We are pleased at the extremely positive response from the
attendees to our services and our presentation this year,”
said Alice Quinn, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for
IPR International. “As the only electronic data protection
company presenting for the fifth year in a row, this was a
perfect opportunity to bring attention to importance that the
courts are placing on data recoverability. The courts seem
to be saying that if you use technology to create data in your
company, you’d better be able to recover all of it when it
is requested. We are learning that CIOS are feeling this pressure
and are increasingly turning to their general counsel to find
the support and the funding to deploy appropriate solutions.
We used a humorous approach to get across a very serious message
and the attendees’ response to Judge Ali has been tremendous.”
The Judge Ali presentation at the show earned IPR their second
consecutive award for Best Presentation and their first nomination
in the category of Best Solution-Services. The IPR campaign
features a book highlighting key legal cases where the inability
of organizations to produce data during the discovery phase
of a case cost the company significantly more than the cost
of an effective technical solution. Some of the stories mentioned
included the FenPhen, Arthur Andersen, Zubulake vs. UBS Warburg
and Ron Perelman vs. Morgan Stanley. In 2005, some 52 million
people were affected by security breaches, many resulting
from lost or stolen backup tapes. The presentation featured
best practices for data backup and archiving to help companies
limit their exposure to risks related to data protection.
